Emra the Hedgehog .:Re-Color:.

So I decided to put this old picture of Emra (6seacat9.deviantart.com/art/Em…) into Gimp to give a shot at freshening up some of the colors and lines on it. The lines... eh, turned out okay, I guess? But I think the colors look 100% refreshed and I'm actually very proud of how this came out, plus I was able to crop out the white paper background the original picture had been sporting since day one.

Again, credit for the original drawing goes to my good friend who drew this for me. I guess I never really gave the full story behind that, did I? Well, basically back in high school, I was doodling up design ideas for Emra during free time in one of my classes, and this girl next to me, named Victoria, saw me drawing and struck up a conversation. She wasn't into Sonic the Hedgehog all that much, but was curious about it since a younger relative of hers was, so we talked for a long time about it. At the time, I had never drawn a Sonic character in my life, and told her that, so she offered to draw Emra for me based off the doodles I had on this little piece of notebook paper. I gave it to her, and the next morning at school, she produced the drawing in the link above to me. It was funny, because she confessed to me that she had never drawn a Sonic character herself either. Learning that inspired me to practice drawing Sonic characters and bought a sketch book so I could do so whenever I could, and considering how far I've come since those early days, it paid off.
